The practical experience of farms in the Chernihiv region demonstrates the advantages of using modern agricultural machines from KUHN.
The development of agricultural technologies in the world means new opportunities and new challenges for all agricultural producers. Today, it is not only necessary to use modern seed, fertilizers and pesticides, but also to apply them correctly and in a timely manner on your own fields. Accordingly, powerful and productive agricultural machinery that can operate in difficult agro-climatic conditions is an important tool for making a profit. New machines from KUHN have become such machines for farms from Polesie. Here is what the head of one of the farms said in his comments.
In 2020, AgroStart Ukraine purchased and used several models of KUHN agricultural machinery, including one fully designed to work with precision farming elements KUHN Axis EMC. According to Vasyl Ruban, the head of the farm, they have purchased two models of KUHN Axis EMC fertilizer spreaders and a KUHN LEXIS trailed sprayer to cultivate 2000 hectares of crops. The main crops are winter wheat, potatoes, corn, soybeans, sunflower and rapeseed. The solid fertilizer broadcaster is used in conjunction with a transfer hopper to spread approximately 10 tons of fertilizer. The following workflow has been developed: first, the reloading hopper is loaded in the farmyard and then, together with the spreader, they go to the field to apply differentiated fertilizers. To work on the farm, they use task maps, which allows them to apply different types of fertilizers in a differentiated manner. For example, five different types of fertilizer were applied quickly and efficiently in several passes in the potato field thanks to the KUHN Axis EMC.
In total, in 2020, according to the farm manager, KUHN Axis EMC worked productively during the field season, fertilizing individual fields 3-5 times, which totaled about 4,500 hectares of fields.
Igor Chabaray is the general manager of TECH-K:
The KUHN Axis EMC is a machine for precision farming. The EMC is a weighing system that controls the fertilizer flow to each side separately. In the event of a clog, the system immediately reacts by opening the slide to the maximum, the clod is removed and the system returns to the set rate. Of course, precision farming with field maps is also available. The machine understands the reason for the obstacle and reports it to the operator. The spreader is equipped with the VARISPREAD PRO system - a stepless shutdown that avoids overlapping fertilizer during spreading.

It also has the OPTIPOINT system - when entering and leaving the field, the machine understands where to open/close the spreading slides to avoid overlapping the application area. It calculates the opening/closing points of the outlets for each working width and type of fertilizer. In fact, thanks to these solutions, the influence of the human factor is minimized as much as possible, when a person makes a mistake and over-applies fertilizer.
The machine works according to field and task maps, which allows for differentiated fertilization. The machine is also equipped with an additional system for adjusting fertilizer application at the edge of the field - TeleMat. This additional equipment allows us to work efficiently along roads, forest plantations, and on field borders without polluting the environment and saving the customer's costs. The use of the ISOBUS system is important. Having its own monitor, navigation system and appropriate licenses, the spreader can work without problems even with an MTZ tractor.
