Modern crop production, especially in connection with the widespread use of simplified tillage systems, cannot be imagined without the application of mineral fertilizers, pesticides (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides), desiccants, etc. But agronomy and its technical support have also become much more complex!
Agricultural universities have established special faculties to train specialists in plant protection against weeds, pests and diseases. The development, manufacture, selection and operation of sprayers have become one of the most difficult tasks in the technical support of agriculture.
What criteria do farmers use when choosing a sprayer?
- Ensuring that the necessary plant protection products (PPPs) are applied at the specified rate, uniformly, with high productivity on the right area and in the optimal, very short time, at different stages of plant development;
- high-quality application of chemicals on fields with different terrain (slopes, complex shape of plots, pits, presence of various obstacles such as poles, hydrants, etc.) and in different weather conditions (wind, humidity);
– с помощью разных типов форсунок предоставлять возможность выбора и четкого соблюдения в работе формы факела, размера и структуры капель в зависимости от химикатов, вида работы, стадии развития и силы ветра;
- have a lightweight and compact sprayer design to reduce soil pressure, prevent track formation during multiple passes, comply with vehicle dimensions, and ensure maneuverability and stability on curves and dirt roads;
- a wide range of models with different types of pumps for selecting pressure and flow, different sizes of tanks and hoses, suspension and control systems for each choice of the optimal configuration based on the size, shape and relief of the fields, crops and soil cultivation technologies, remoteness of water sources, etc; ;
- Ensuring that it is easy to flush, preserve and perform preventive maintenance such as lubrication and replacement of components that wear out or are exposed to chemicals, etc.
The wide range of sprayers produced by the KUHN Group allows you to choose the one that best meets the needs of the farmer. From the entire range of KUHN hand-held, backpack, mounted, trailed and self-propelled sprayers, let's consider the Metris 4102 trailed model, which is based on the world's first and only Autospray technology developed by the designers of the KUHN-Blanchard plant.
The Metris 4102 sprayer model itself has proven to be quite confident and is in great demand on the world market, satisfying all the above needs of the most demanding farmer.
How does it work?
- The farmer chooses the correct rate of spraying solution consumption and the exact size of the droplets;
- Accordingly, it selects only one type of atomizer, the parameters of which do not exceed the desired outflow rate and effective droplet size at the minimum and maximum system pressure for its high-quality operation;
- The Autospray system in the ISOBUS application differentially controls the smart nozzle holders, strictly adhering to the flow rates and maintaining the necessary pressure in the spray system to form the exact droplet size depending on speed and demand;
- The advantages of the Autospray system are that with the right type of nozzle, it ensures high quality spraying performance, strictly observing a stable droplet size when changing the flow rate over a range of speeds that would require 4 or even 5 types of nozzles in traditional systems;
- The Autospray system controls the sequential switching off of nozzles to avoid overlapping and, most importantly, working at the edges of the field, which ensures safe operation of the sprayer for the environment, crop preservation and significantly saves the farmer's costs.
